How to Create a Persona Engine

A Persona is a voice identity extracted from one of your generated songs, enabling consistent vocal style across future generations.

What is a Persona?

A Persona is a voice/style "identity" derived from one of your generated songs. It captures the unique vocal characteristics so future generations can maintain consistency. To create one, you need to have at least one completed playlist with songs available.

You need at least one completed playlist with songs because persona creation requires selecting an existing song as the source.

Creating a Persona

Step 1: Navigate to Personas

1. Open the dashboard
2. In the sidebar, click Personalization
3. Click the Personas tab
4. Click Create New Persona

Step 2: Name Your Persona

1. Fill Name (required)
2. Optionally fill Description (Optional)
3. Click Continue to Song Selection

Step 3: Select a Source Song

Now pick a song as the source. If you don't have any songs yet, you'll need to generate a playlist first.

1. In Select a Song for Persona, optionally use the search box (press Enter to search)
2. Expand a playlist
3. Click a song card (it highlights in blue when selected)

Step 4: Mark the Vocal Section

The goal is to capture a clean, clear vocal segment — not just the instrumental intro. You need to mark a 10–30 second vocal section.

1. In the player, click Play
2. When vocals begin, click Mark Vocal Start
3. After 10–30 seconds of clean vocals, click Mark Vocal End
4. Use the -5s and +5s buttons (SkipBack/SkipForward) for fine-tuning
5. Optional: Expand Advanced: Manual Time Entry (Optional) to manually adjust times (the app enforces the 10–30 second rule)

Step 5: Finalize Persona Description

1. In Persona Description, click Regenerate (optional) to get a new AI-generated description
2. Edit the description manually if needed
3. Click Create Persona

Great! That persona is now available to use in Generation Engines and in playlist personalization.

Using Your Persona

Once created, you can use your Persona in two ways:

Method 1: Within a Generation Engine

1. Go to Personalization → Generation Engines
2. Create or edit a Generation Engine
3. In the Constants section, select your Persona from the Persona ID (Optional) dropdown

Method 2: During Playlist Creation

1. Go to Playlists → Create Playlist → Manual Setup
2. Fill all required fields
3. Scroll to Personalization Styles (Optional)
4. Select your persona from the Persona dropdown
