How to Create Thumbnail & YouTube Details Engines

Create reusable thumbnail templates and YouTube details styles to maintain consistent branding across all your YouTube uploads.

Overview

PlaylistCraft offers two powerful personalization engines for YouTube publishing:

• YouTube Thumbnail Styles — Create reusable thumbnail templates with placeholders
• YouTube Details Styles — Teach the system your preferred title/description style using examples

Part 1: YouTube Thumbnail Styles

What is a Thumbnail Style?

A YouTube Thumbnail Style is a reusable template for thumbnails. You provide examples, and the system generates a template with placeholders like [TITLE], [SUBTITLE], and [MAIN_TEXT] so it can be re-used on different videos.

Creating a Thumbnail Style

1. Open the dashboard
2. In the sidebar, click Personalization
3. Click the YouTube Thumbnails tab
4. Click New Thumbnail Style
5. Set Style Name
6. Click Upload Images and upload 1–4 example thumbnails

Understanding the Thumbnail Template

After analysis, the app auto-fills a Thumbnail Style Template. This is the most important part — it tells the system your layout, typography, and color choices, and uses placeholders for dynamic text.

7. Scroll to Thumbnail Style Template
8. Review the placeholders like [TITLE], [SUBTITLE], [MAIN_TEXT]
9. Edit the template to match your exact branding
10. Click Save Changes

Part 2: YouTube Details Styles

What is a Details Style?

A YouTube Details Style is example-based — you add titles and descriptions you like, and the system uses those examples as a style guide for future uploads.

Creating a Details Style

1. In the Personalization section, click the YouTube Details tab
2. Click New Details Style
3. Set Style Name

Adding Title Examples

4. Under YouTube Title Examples, click Add Title
5. Paste 2–3 real example titles you've used or want to use
6. Add up to 10 total title examples

Adding Description Examples

7. Under YouTube Description Examples, click Add Description
8. Paste 1–2 real example descriptions
9. Add up to 10 total description examples
10. Click Save Changes

The more good examples you add, the better the system can match your tone and structure when generating titles and descriptions for new uploads.

Using Your Engines

During Playlist Creation

1. Go to Playlists → Create Playlist → Manual Setup
2. Fill all required fields
3. Scroll to Personalization Styles (Optional)
4. Select your styles from:
   • YouTube Thumbnail Style dropdown
   • YouTube Details Style dropdown
5. Create your playlist

When you later upload to YouTube, the system will apply your thumbnail template and use your details style to generate consistent titles and descriptions.

Best Practices

For Thumbnail Styles

• Upload thumbnails that represent your brand consistently
• Use high-resolution reference images (1280×720 recommended)
• Keep text placement and typography consistent across examples
• Review and edit the auto-generated template for accuracy

For Details Styles

• Include diverse examples that cover different types of content
• Add 3-5 examples minimum for better style learning
• Use your best-performing titles and descriptions as examples
• Keep your tone and structure consistent across examples
• Update your examples over time as your style evolves
